- We don't need a debate nearly as badly as we need to solve this mess. I fear congress will screw things up as usual and I think it shows McCain being very responsible.

- Most of you must be in college or just got out. Maybe even live at home and want that same feeling from the Gov't. You want a full time nanny to take care of you and protect you from yourself. Maybe it's because you are unmotivated and find it very difficult to succeed on your own.

- I am curious what kind of Doctor you are? My husband is a Radiologist and is very concerned with Obama's plan. Have you ever been to Kaiser Permante(sp) or heard about it? It's a big HMO hospital chain with politicians controlling it. They offer the worst care in California possible.

- I was going to vote for Obama but the more I realize he is just all talk and wants to increase taxes on everything, I thought no way. His plan to increase taxes on people making more than 250k(couples) which means singles making more than $125k is just stupid.

Angela -497690 I think your facts regarding Obama's estate tax plan is incorrect. Both presidential candidates are behind keeping the estate tax; neither supports its repeal. Senator Obama is proposing a $3.5 Million Exemption and a 45% Estate Tax Rate. Senator McCain is proposing a $5 Million Exemption and a 15% Estate Tax Rate. Both proposals are still beneficial for wealth transfer just a different threshhold.

One other point: The rich have so many more tax breaks, and loopholes, than the average middle income wage earner. A 1031 exchange, deferred compensation, offshore accounts are prime examples. I for one don't mind paying my fair share as long as it could benefit others. Unfortunately everyone needs oversight big business and the government. US aid of $12 Billion missing in Iraq hurts Americans as we will never locate these funds and can't hold people accountable. At least if the funds are taxed based and used in the US, there is accountability. We need to start assisting on another instead of prophesizing what might be. There is a wealth of knowledge that you are a part of in academia and Obama is reaching out for change. I'm a Democrat who is tired of fear politics but has been inspired by Obama to reach out to others, become part of the solution for change. Vote Obama!!!
